Thankful Mom

Recently, as I dropped a student (who I meet with once a week) off at her house, I talked with her mom and asked if she had
money for her daughter to go ice skating with us. She replied
that she just can’t afford it. I only asked for ten dollars and this mother was embarrassed and just worn out. We had a conversation about how she works all day, every day, and still has trouble making ends meet. I told her that we could take care of the money for her daughter to go ice skating with us. The mother started crying and explained some of the stressful things that are going on in her life. Before I left, she just hugged me and said,
“Campus Life does so much for us; thank
you so much for all your love and supportmoney for her daughter to go ice skating with us. She replied

that she just can’t afford it. I only asked for ten dollars and this mother was embarrassed and just worn out. of my family.”
I left feeling very humbled by this women’s love for her children and her hard work!
